Woman quits marriage, marries daughter’s boyfriend in Kano

Malama Khadija, a married woman in Rano Local Government District, Kano State, annulled her own marriage and married her daughter’s boyfriend.

The incident happened after the woman’s daughter, Aisha, rejected the suitor.

However, in response to their reaction, the woman’s relatives told a local radio station in Kano that they accused Rano LGA Commander Hisbah of marrying their daughter without their consent and they I don’t even know where she was found.

But also told the radio station, Malama Khadija said she is living happily with her new husband. She added that her marriage was not forbidden by Islam. She explained that after realizing that her daughter (Aisha) had decided not to marry her ex-boyfriend, she felt that neither of them should lose him.

Khadija said that with this decision, she contacted her new husband’s family to make it right. She added that she is as beautiful as her daughter.

“I didn’t do it out of ignorance. I contacted the clerics and they told me it’s not forbidden in Islam. When I contacted him (new husband), he accepted but my parents and family refused to get married. That’s why I decided to come to Hisbah and now we are in a happy marriage.

Khadija’s uncle, Abdullahi Musa Rano, said they refused to allow her to marry the man because she purposely annulled her first marriage to marry her daughter’s pursuer, who was ineligible for a husband. .

“She pressured her husband to get a divorce just to marry that man. We can’t do this shameful thing in our family, that’s why we refuse to marry them. I’m not happy with what Hisbah has done and we want them to kick our daughter out.” We want the Commander-in-Chief and the state government to look into this.

When contacted, the Hisbah commander in Rano, Ustaz Nura Rano, said that only the council’s state commander has the right to speak on the matter.

However, when contacted, the commander-in-chief of the state of Hisbah, Sheikh Harun Ibn-Sina, said an investigation into the matter was still underway.
